As a Benefits Specialist at West Shore Home®, you will contribute to this mission by providing exceptional support to the Benefits team. You will report directly to the Corporate Director of HR and work closely with your team of benefits and wellness specialists.

What You’ll Contribute
In this role, you can expect to:
  • Administer employee benefits plans such as medical, dental, vision, life, Short Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), voluntary plans, and 401(k) plans.
  • Coordinate payment of claims and administrative fees with vendors and the Accounts Payable department.
  • Act as liaison between the Company/employees and various insurance carriers and plan administrators. Advise employees on interpretation of plan provisions.
  • Support employees utilizing STD or LTD and provided benefit related assistance with other employee leaves, including monitoring of benefit catch ups and termination of benefits in compliance with Company policy.
  • Enroll new employees in benefits plans utilizing the HRIS system and provide benefits information to eligible employees.
  • Coordinate and administer activities of Company’s 401(k), including annual audits, compliance, and required notifications.
  • Ensure timely and accurate transmission of benefits files to vendors from HRIS system.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain benefits description booklets, statements, certificates, and annual open enrollment materials. Ensure all communication materials are up to date and compliant with regulations and plan provisions.
  • Remain current on all government regulations involving benefits, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, HIPAA, ADA, etc.
  • Compile routine and special reports on benefit matters for audits and government filings such as ACA.
  • Assist with Open Enrollment annually, including coordinating meetings, preparing data, and setting up plans and employee premiums in the HRIS.
  • Complete compliance requirements of Company plans, including PCORI fee, annual 401(k) audits, non-discrimination testing, and completes 401(k) and medical plan Form 5500 filings.
What It Takes to Succeed
At West Shore Home, we are Default Aggressive towards our goals and take Extreme Ownership of our results. We’ll provide you with the training and tools to set you up for success, and we hope that you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree, Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience overseeing benefit administration preferred.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel skills, specifically vlookup formulas.
  • Experience with Dayforce software preferred.
  • Superior customer service skills, including excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must have a valid smart phone or smart device to log in to Company required systems using two-factor authentication
